Matilde vandt prisen for mest inspirerende præsentation på Patientsikkerhedskonferencens Forskningsmarkedsplads 2025

The Danish Society for Patient Safety hosted the Patient Safety Conference 2025 on 9–10 April – two packed days of inspiring keynotes, expert sessions, workshops, film screenings and, of course, research presentations.

One of the highlights was the Research Marketplace – a special session where researchers from across Denmark presented new, practice-based studies relevant to patient safety and quality improvement across health and social care. Among them was Matilde Skødstrup Axelsen, who shared her PhD project:
“Intra-hospital transitions – Older patients’, relatives’ and healthcare professionals’ experiences and perceptions in cardiology settings.”

Her research explores internal hospital transitions among older patients (aged 65 and above) with cardiovascular and multiple chronic conditions, focusing on nursing communication, documentation, patient safety and a sense of security.
Matilde was one of seven researchers who each had eight minutes to present their work to an audience of clinicians, managers and other professionals. Her presentation was voted the most inspiring, and she was invited onto the main stage to receive her award – a beautiful bouquet and enthusiastic applause.

Alongside her talk, Matilde’s research poster was displayed throughout the conference and featured prominently during the research session itself.

Congratulations to Matilde on a well-deserved recognition of her engaging presentation and valuable research!
